New: Thawsome Cryotube Adapters - See How They Work!

Thawsome Cryotube Adapter

Freeze with care. Thaw with ThawsomeTM

Rapid, water-bath-free thawing of cryopreserved cells using centrifugal force and warm media — directly in your centrifuge tube.

ThawsomeTM is a single-use adapter that eliminates water baths by rapidly thawing and diluting cells directly in a standard centrifuge.

Traditional water baths harbor contamination through shared, standing water. ThawsomeTM replaces them with a single-use, waterless adapter — eliminating cross-contamination risk, disinfection routines, and water bath monitoring entirely.

Compatible with standard 1–2 mL cryovials (Corning, Greiner, Nunc, IMEC) and 15 mL conical tubes.

Currently, the ThawsomeTM product is not sold sterile. A step is required by the user to sterilize using 70% ethanol. Aridica is in the process of creating a version of ThawsomeTM that will be sterilized prior to shipment to customers.

Currently, the ThawsomeTM product is sold in packs of 50 only. Please reach out if you have a specific use case that requires a different size — we would be happy to work with you to meet your needs!

THE PROBLEM WITH WATER BATHS

Conventional thawing is slow, risky, and inconsistent

10–15 minute thaw time

Operator stands waiting while cells are exposed to thermal stress —adding variability to every experiment.

Shared bath contamination

Water baths are shared, poorly maintained, and harbour microbialcontamination that can compromise your samples.

Operator-to-operator variation

Manual agitation means every user thaws differently — underminingprotocol reproducibility across the team.

Dedicated equipment footprint

A water bath, thermometer, and timer take up bench space andrequire regular cleaning and maintenance.

Better tools. Pure science. Aridica.

The Thawsome Story

Thawsome represents the perfect bridge between elite federal research and your laboratory bench. Developed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and licensed by Aridica, this technology was engineered to solve a singular problem: the inconsistency of manual cell thawing.

At Aridica, our mission is to help scientists do better science by replacing legacy processes with modern ones. For cell thawing, Aridica is replacing “swirl-and-guess” methods with automated, water-free precision. By industrializing an NIH-patented breakthrough, we’ve eliminated contamination risks and human error, ensuring your most critical samples recover with maximum viability.

The Solution

Three steps to viable cells

The Aridica Thawsome Cryotube Adapter
01
Load the adapter

Insert your 15 mL tube into the single-use adapter. Designed forstandard 15 mL conical tubes.

The Aridica Thawsome Cryotube Adapter
02
Spin with warm media

Centrifugal force drives pre-warmedthaw media uniformly around the frozenpellet. No bath required.

The Aridica Thawsome Cryotube Adapter
03
Recover viable cells

Thawing completes in ~3.5 minutes. Discard adapter and proceed directly todownstream assays.

Key Benefits

Designed for today’s lab

No water bath required

Eliminate contamination risk and protocolvariability of shared baths.

Rapid thaw (~3.5 minutes)

Centrifugal media exchange achieves faster, more uniform thawing.

Single use consumable

Each adapter is individually packed. Use once and discard — no cleaning.

Improved viability

Reduced ice-crystal damage supports higherpost-thaw cell viability.

Uses existing centrifuge

Compatible with common benchtopcentrifuges — no extra instruments.

Minimal workflow disruption

Drop-in replacement for water bath thawingwithin existing SOPs.
